The current rate of payment for a 4 kW solar electric energy system installed in an existing
residence is 41.3 p per kW, and this is payable throughout the 25 year period. If, however, a householder installs the same system after March 2012 the rate goes down to 37.8 p, and after March 2014 to 34.6 p. Thereafter the starting rate continues to diminish for householders installing new systems. Clearly the best rate of return is now, especially when other forms of investment are not providing anywhere near the same rate of return, and it’s tax free !
