Solar Thermal Systems Explained

As all bill payers know, heating water can be somewhat expensive.  Whether it’s tap water or central heating, it’s an every day cost that you simply cannot avoid… or is it?

Azure Eco specialise in the installation of Solar Thermal systems (sometimes known as Solar Hot Water Systems) which can provide up to 70% of your hot water needs throughout a year.  Additionally, as such systems use a natural and renewable source in solar energy, they can contribute towards a healthy environment; protecting it for future generations.

But how exactly do solar thermal hot water systems work?  The answer is surprisingly simple and shows just how straightforward the installation of such a system can be.  In short, solar panels collect energy from the sun and this is in turn used to heat water within the panels.  As soon as the water reaches the optimum temperature, it is pumped throughout the hot water cylinder and subsequently heats the rest of the water in the system.  It’s as easy as that.

As mentioned previously, solar thermal systems can usually provide up to 70% of your hot water needs throughout a year, and therefore you’d still need a conventional boiler in your home.  That said, being as it will only be needed for small portion of the year, it’s clear to see the potential savings that can be made via solar water heating.

As an accredited installer of Solar Thermal Hot Water systems we can also help you apply for a government grant which could potentially contribute up to £400 towards your installation costs.
