Voltage Management Systems
Azure Eco is now installing the VPhase Voltage Optimization Unit
A bit of technical jargon here, but it’ll be worth it in the end. At present, electricity is delivered to UK households at an average of around 240V. This means that homeowners have less control over energy usage in their homes and ultimately some items end up getting a higher voltage than they need. To tackle this, the VPhase unit reduces voltage to a stable level, normally 220V in the UK, regardless of the incoming supply voltage.
Each device in a household needs varying amounts of voltage, and therefore the amount of energy saved varies in turn. In tests conducted by VPhase, it was found that after the installation of a voltage management system, items such as fridges saved around 17% worth of energy, normal light bulbs saved 15% and amazingly one digital cordless phone saved 44%! Of course, this is just the tip of the ice berg and savings can also be made on just about every electrical appliance throughout a home.
Ultimately, after the installation of a voltage management system, household electricity bills will be potentially reduced by on average 10% per annum. Sometimes referred to as ‘fit and forget solutions’ due to the ease of their installation and maintenance; voltage management systems once installed are unnoticeable in all but their savings.
